• Iggy gets my vote. It seemed like she was all over the place; on the radio, in the news with Swaggy P, etc. But don’t sleep on Bastille. Even though “Pompeii” is kind of annoying, “Of the Night” is a very cool mashup of Snap!’s “Rhythm is a Dancer” and Corona’s “Rhythm of the Night”, two great 90s songs. Also, I don’t get the appeal of Sam Smith. He has a nice voice, but his songs are just so meh.

• All of Me is only nominated for this award, plus the Tiesto Remix version in the Best Remixed Recording. Therefore, it gets my vote here. Really, really good song. And the Tiesto Remix isn’t half bad either. John Legend deserves this one.

• Holy crap these people are still around? I mean Johnny Mathis is like 80 and Tony Bennett is almost 90! Good for them. I wonder who the oldest person to ever win a Grammy was… Quick Google search tells me it was of course ol’ Pinetop Perkins at 97 years young. Pinetop Perkins is such an old-person’s name, it’s not even funny. Oh ya, back to my vote: the legend that is Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, Cheek to Cheek.

• Now this is a tough one. All of these are really good. (I did have to look up and listen to Lecrae’s song though, still not bad). Anyways, this Grammy goes to Eminem, a true Rap God.

• Blak Majik wasn’t bad, I just didn’t hear it that much. I thought The Monster was pretty good. Tuesday blows, I really don’t know how people like that song. Don’t know much about Schoolboy Q, but Studio is kind of fuckin’ dope. But in the end Bound 2 is the best collaboration here with Ye and Uncle Charlie, uh-huh hunny. For an even better collab between these two, check out See Me Now. (Yay, now we get to hear an acceptance speech from Kanye!)

• No news to anyone, Carrie Underwood has pipes. She absolutely kills it in every song she does and Something in The Water is no exception. It’s a pretty great song, complete with an interpretation of Amazing Grace. Obviously that’s where my vote goes.

Raise ‘Em Up – Keith Urban ft.  Eric Church

• Some serious selections here! I think it’s between the first two. I really like Somethin’ Bad. But I love the song Gentle On My Mind; originally by John Hartford, popularized by Glen Campbell, and I think best performed by Dean Martin (probably because of the horns). The Band Perry’s performance of the song at the CMA’s was great; a whole new take from John, Glen and Dino. They start really slow and pick up the speed by the second verse. I thought it was very well done so that gets my vote for sure.

I’m Not Gonna Miss You – Glen Campbell

Meanwhile Back At Mama’s – Tim McGraw ft. Faith Hill

• I wasn’t crazy about any of these songs, but here goes nothing: Can I tell you something without you getting mad? I didn’t really like American Kids. And it seems like I might be the only person who feels this way. I felt he really mailed it in but I get why people like it. I’m a huge Kenny fan too, but it’s just a little too pop-y for me. Automatic is a good song, I particularly enjoy its lyrics reminiscing on the past. Give Me Back My Hometown is okay, people seem to love Eric Church, but this one wasn’t his best. It would be nice to see Glen Campbell win one last Grammy as I’m Not Gonna Miss You is his last studio recording and a genuinely good song. And Meanwhile Back At Mama’s is decent at best. Having said all that, American Kids is probably the best song of the five nominated and alas gets my vote.

• Hey Sia, what the hell am I watching here? Actually forget that, Turn Down For What is infinity times weirder. But Grammy’s, where is “Anaconda” in this category? I think you really fudged up on that one. Anyways, the winner is clear in this one, right? How good is the Happy music video? So good. Really uplifting, energetic, fun and obviously happy. Try not to dance when watching the video, I dare you.
