My Bucket List

It’s been a BIG year for the ol’ Bucket List. First, on my birthday, I got to cross off “Go to a March Madness game” when I saw Villanova v. Texas Tech in the Elite 8 at the Garden. We had really good seats and it was a really great game, up until Villanova pulled ahead late and ended up winning by 12. \\//’s up!

Then, in June, I went to the US Open at Shinnecock Hills on Long Island! It was Moving Day (Saturday) so a lot of players (Tiger, Spieth, etc.) had missed the cut, but we still got to see Koepka, Phil and local guy Matt Parziale. The whole day and weekend was so much fun and the course was absolutely beautiful. If you have the opportunity to attend a Major, I strongly suggest it. (2022 is at The Country Club in Brookline).

A week after the US Open, I went white water rafting in Patten, Maine! This was easily one of the most wild things I’ve ever done. And I’ll be honest, I was super nervous. If you know anything about white water rafting, you know there’s 5 levels. Well we got all 5! But man, the adrenaline pumping through you after going through a Level 4 or 5 is something else. Once you realized you haven’t fallen off or died, you are absolutely jacked up. It’s truly thrilling.

In July, I hiked East Pond Trail in New Hampshire in the White Mountain National Forest. It brought us to a beautiful lake that you’ll see below. And I’ve also hiked the “Skyline Trail” at Blue Hills a few times now which really is a great workout.

Lastly, in September I played golf in Ireland (twice)! I first played Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Co. Clare. The course was pretty tough, and it was super windy (classic Ireland) so I didn’t play that well, but I did birdie a hole which honestly felt really good. Between the wind, rain, thick grass, rented clubs and unfamiliar course, I’ll take my score of 104. The next day I played Galway Bay Golf in, you guessed it, Galway. Specifically, Oranmore. The course was beautiful and it was a much nicer day weather wise, although still windy. There is an abandoned resort next to it which is bizarre because it’s such a great spot. I (again) didn’t play well but had lots of fun. The pictures of both courses really don’t do them justice
